National I LOVE My feet Day 2023: Date, History, Facts, Programmes

The national Carolyn Jenkins conceived of I Love My Feet Day as a day in which people not only loved their feet but also took appropriate care of them.

The national I Love My Feet Day is observed annually on August 17. You may be pondering why feet are being celebrated, but the question you should be asking is why aren’t you celebrating it? We are aware that feet have a reputation for being unpleasant, but the reality is that they perform a number of important functions for us as humans, including supporting our entire body weight and transporting additional loads, such as groceries and other heavy objects. The feet are the foundation of the body in terms of support, balance, posture, and overall health, so they should be cared for.

The background of National I LOVE My feet Day

The national Carolyn Jenkins conceived of I Love My Feet Day as a day in which people not only loved their feet but also took appropriate care of them. Individuals with diabetes or certain circulatory conditions must pay the uttermost attention to their feet. It is important to note that 75% of adults have foot problems, and we should strive to reduce this figure by a significant amount. These foot problems are typically caused by donning improper footwear, such as oversized or undersized shoes, as many individuals still do not know their exact shoe size.

Choosing improper footwear can result in a lifetime of pain. As our feet are our primary mode of transportation, we frequently neglect how hard they work as they help us stand, walk, run, skip, jump, and participate in sports. They transport us to our desired destinations, including school, employment, and recreational areas. They withstand everything we do in our daily lives and are capable of performing many tasks that our hands cannot.

The national I Love My Feet Day serves as a reminder to learn about our feet, share good foot care techniques, footwear advice, foot care, and product information, and participate in activities that help us celebrate and maintain healthy feet. I Love My Feet Day was observed for the first time in 2015, following Carolyn Jenkins’s May 2015 proposal. Since then, it has been celebrated annually, and this year marks the eighth I Love My Feet Day.
