Since its construction in 1936, the Monterey County Fair & Event Centre has hosted numerous unique events, including the annual Monterey County Fair. You will discover something of interest at every event, ranging from agriculture to technology and beyond! There are activities for the complete family.
1967’s Monterey International Pop Festival took place between June 16 and June 18. A three-day music festival took place. John Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas, record producer Lou Adler, Alan Pariser, and publicist Derek Taylor organised the festival. Monterey and Big Sur were historically recognised as the locations of the Monterey Jazz Festival and Big Sur Folk Festival. Promoters viewed the Monterey Pop festival as a means of validating rock music as an art form on par with jazz and folk. They outperformed all expectations. The Monterey County Fair established this day in 2019, and it has been conducted annually since then.

On the fairgrounds, there are many different types of activities available. Some games include ring tosses, shooting galleries, carnival rides, and other activities that primarily appeal to children but that adults can also appreciate.

Over 100,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space and over 40,000 square feet of outdoor exhibit space are available at the Centre.
Concerts and other events can accommodate up to 2,000 persons on the Center’s permanent stage.
The Monterey County Fair & Event Centre is one of the most popular locations in the Monterey Bay area for trade exhibits, business conferences, weddings, and other special events.
The Monterey County Farm Bureau Federation originally constructed it as an exhibition centre for agricultural machinery and vehicles.
The facility is designed to accommodate a variety of events and includes an indoor arena, three tiers of seating around its perimeter, and an outdoor space.
