National SCUD Day is observed annually on July 8 and is also commonly referred to as National Savour the Comic, Unplug the Drama Day. The purpose of the day is to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to set aside the drama they’ve been experiencing and simply unwind. Working diligently is never the issue; rather, it is the drama and problems that we allow into our lives that cause problems. This year on National SCUD Day, commit to focusing on the positive and avoiding any negativity that may be present.

In addition to her studies in law, she also took many courses at the School of Counselling Psychology at Santa Clara University. This is what made her realise that hard-working people also need time off. As a result, she created National SCUD Day, which is dedicated to relaxing. Allen is also a co-owner of the SCUD (Savour the Comic, Unplug the Drama) Club, a biweekly newsletter that discusses how to unwind and forget about all of life’s problems.
On this day, you are expected to take a step back from your hectic schedules and problems and look for the good in everything you are experiencing. Most significantly, use these twenty-four hours to unwind, laugh, and distance yourself from any surrounding drama.
Not for the first time in history have researchers promoted the need to relax and ignore one’s troubles. Dr. Edmund Jacobson published a book in 1929 titled “Progressive Relaxation.” The focus of the book was on techniques and exercises for relieving muscular tension and mental stress. After the publication of the book, the term’relax’ became more commonplace. In 1932, another new relaxation technique known as “autogenic training” was developed. According to this technique, you can calm yourself down simply by telling your body to unwind.
