The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 27-year-old lady driving an Acura SUV and a 26-year-old guy riding along were both from Deltona and were moving west on County Road 42 when the driver lost control and hit a tree.

After an automobile collision on County Road 42 halted traffic in Lake County on Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office and Florida Highway Patrol reported that both needed to be evacuated to the hospital.

What Causes Automobile Crashes?

The SUV’s driver is believed to have lost control while travelling east on 10th Street, crossed into the westbound lanes of traffic, and nearly landed on the westbound shoulder, according to the police.

The SUV allegedly overcorrected and veered back into the east lane before turning around and veering off the road once again before coming to rest on a tree close to the east shoulder.

According to FHP, the male-only sustained minor wounds, while the woman is in severe condition.
