A Man in Countryside Dies After Being Stung by Bees

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. — A Kentucky man died in the emergency room Monday after being stung 15 to 20 times by a swarm of yellow jackets and bees, local authorities said. The insects attacked while he was moving a bag of potting soil on his porch.

According to Jones, the man had underlying health conditions that were likely exacerbated by the beestings. However, Jones declined to elaborate on the nature of these conditions, citing patient confidentiality concerns.

Jones stated that when the man experienced difficulty breathing following the incident, family members called 911 and began CPR.
