Aaron Rodgers Jets Debut: On the fourth play of the season, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sacked and collapsed to the ground. Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, he was forced off the field with a left ankle injury.
Rodgers spent a few minutes in the medical tent before being placed on a cart during his highly anticipated debut with the Jets. Before departing the field, he dismounted the cart and hobbled through the midfield tunnel to the locker room.
The Jets initially stated that Rodgers suffered an ankle injury and that his return was uncertain, but they later stated that he could not play for the remainder of the game.
Rodgers was observed entering the X-ray room while wearing a brace on his left foot. The Jets stated that X-rays of the ankle revealed no abnormalities.
Robert Saleh, head coach of the New York Jets, told ESPN’s Lisa Salters that Rodgers was being evaluated and that “we’ll know more later.”
After Rodgers was sacked, the sold-out crowd at MetLife Stadium, which had begun the evening hopeful for a trip to the Super Bowl, became subdued and lacked enthusiasm.
Vinicius Injury Update: Unraveling the Setback and Real Madrid’s Game Plan
On a first down at the Jets’ 43-yard line, Leonard Floyd defeated Duane Brown, 38, left tackle. Brown had not participated in many practises over the summer due to a shoulder injury. Brown attempted to tackle Floyd but lost his equilibrium, allowing Floyd to easily reach Rodgers.
39-year-old Rodgers attempted to pirouette away from Floyd. He appeared to injure his left ankle as a result. He remained on the ground, and the Jets’ medical personnel immediately attended to him.
Zach Wilson became the Jets’ reserve quarterback when they acquired Aaron Rodgers in the summer. Wilson entered the contest in place of Rodgers. Wilson was the number two overall selection in the 2021 draught. In the previous season, he was cut twice.
Rodgers suffered a leg injury during OTAs. He missed a few practises due to a strained left calf muscle. By training camp, the injury appeared to have healed. He attended each practise.
