Alex Collins Cause of Death: the Shocking Truth Behind NFL Star Tragic Demise

Collins was selected at No. 171 overall in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draught by the Seattle Seahawks, where he played his final two NFL seasons.

Alex Collins Cause of Death: Former NFL running back and Arkansas Razorbacks sensation Alex Collins was killed in a motorcycle accident on August 14, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office police report obtained by FOX Sports’ Andy Slater.

Collins, age 28, was reportedly travelling eastbound on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a woman whose 2002 Chevrolet Suburban was making a left turn at the moment.

“At some point, according to investigators, the Chevrolet driver turned left to travel south on Northwest 33rd Avenue,” states the report. “As the car crossed the eastbound lanes, the motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the SUV.”

Collins was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the driver of the Chevrolet cooperated with the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing crash investigation.

Collins’ passing was disclosed by one of his previous teams, the Baltimore Ravens, on Monday night, August 14. The Ravens issued the following statement on their social media platforms:

Collins was selected at No. 171 overall in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draught by the Seattle Seahawks, where he played his final two NFL seasons.

“Absolutely heartbroken,” the Seahawks wrote. “Prayers are offered for the Collins family.”

Before his second season in the NFL, Collins joined the Ravens’ practise squad. After the team’s first regular-season game, he was added to the active roster. The Florida native earned a career-high 973 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 212 rushing attempts, in addition to 23 receptions for 187 receiving yards.

Collins was the first true freshman in SEC history to rush for more than 100 yards in each of his first three games. He also joined Georgia’s Herschel Walker and Arkansas teammate Darren McFadden as the only other players to rush for more than 1,000 yards in three seasons.

Collins joined the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League in January, but after three appearances he was placed on injured reserve.
