Another Mega Millions Jackpot Won in Florida: Check Here

In its 21st year, the Mega Millions game has awarded two jackpots exceeding $1 billion (in Maine and Florida).

Another Mega Millions Jackpot Won in Florida: The extraordinary Mega Millions® year continues! Just two drawings after a record-setting reward of $1.602 billion was won in Florida, another jackpot is won in that state! One Florida ticket matched all six numbers in the drawing on August 15 – the white balls 18, 39, 42, 57, and 63, as well as the gold Mega Ball 7 – to earn $39 million ($18.9 million in cash). Based on actual sales, the award value was increased from the initial estimate.

Another Mega Millions Jackpot Won in Florida

In its 21st year, the Mega Millions game has awarded two jackpots exceeding $1 billion (in Maine and Florida), two jackpots of $20 million, three jackpots in the $30 million range, and one jackpot of $483 million. In addition, the same state has won consecutive lotteries three times this year: before Florida’s two wins, New York won at $483 million (April 14) and $20 million (April 18), and Massachusetts won at $33 million (January 24) and $33 million (January 31). It’s also the first time since 2016 that eight lotteries have been won in a single calendar year, and it’s only August. Exceptionally exceptional results.

A ticket sold in New Jersey matched the five white orbs drawn on Tuesday night to win the $1 million second-tier prize. Ten tickets across the nation matched four white orbs and the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. One is worth $30,000 because it contains the optional Megaplier (available in most states for an additional $1 purchase), which on Tuesday night was 3X. The remaining nine are each valued at $10,000.

The jackpot for the next drawing on Friday, August 18 will be reset to $20 million ($9.6 million in cash).

Mega Millions is the only lottery game to have awarded five jackpots in excess of $1 billion, including two in 2023 and one in 2018, 2021, and 2022. Tickets are available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each ticket costs $2, and in the majority of jurisdictions, participants can add the Megaplier for an additional dollar to multiply their non-jackpot prizes. Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, Atlanta, Georgia conducts drawings.

Half of the proceeds from the sale of each Mega Millions ticket remain in the state where the ticket was purchased, where they are used to fund designated charitable organisations and retailer commissions.
