Bruce Springsteen has cancelled two tour appearances with the E Street Band due to illness. The rock star’s management announced on social media that the performances scheduled for Wednesday and Friday in Philadelphia will be rescheduled.

Springsteen is currently on his first international engagement since 2016’s The River engagement. In February, he embarked on a tour of the United States, and he and the E Street Band have just returned from a summer phase of their European tour, which included stops in the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, and Germany.
The second leg of the North American tour began in Chicago earlier this month. Future performances will take place in Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and various Canadian cities.
In May, during a concert in Amsterdam, Springsteen tripped over some steps and collapsed onto the stage. However, he recovered quickly and resumed the performance, as well as the remainder of his European tour dates.
Although Springsteen has not been on tour for several years, he has remained active. Springsteen on Broadway debuted in 2017 and earned him a special Tony Award for its combination of musical performance and biographical monologue. In 2021, as part of the reopening of Broadway following the closure of COVID-19, he brought the show back for a limited run.
In the intervening years, Springsteen has also released three albums, including his 2019 solo effort Western Stars and two E Street Band albums, Letter to You in 2020 and Only the Strong in 2022.
