Chandrayaan-3 Successful Landing: India Creates History

India's contemporary space market is worth approximately $8 billion and has grown at a rate of approximately 4% annually over the past few years, compared to a global average of 2%

Chandrayaan-3 Successful Landing: The Lander Module (LM) of the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3, which was launched on July 14, successfully landed on the Moon’s surface on August 23, making India the fourth nation after the former Soviet Union, the United States, and China to perform a soft landing on the lunar surface.

Chandrayaan-3 successful landing on the south pole of the Moon on August 23 will not only enhance India’s prestige, but is also expected to catapult the nation’s burgeoning space industry to new heights. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India aims to open its space sector to foreign investment in order to increase its share of the global launch market by a factor of five within the next decade.

India’s contemporary space market is worth approximately $8 billion and has grown at a rate of approximately 4% annually over the past few years, compared to a global average of 2%.

India’s space economy is expected to reach $40 billion by 2040, and a successful mission will contribute to this growth.

Chandrayaan IIIAnalysts predict that more nations will approach India to launch their satellites as a result of this mission, allowing India to reach its goal much sooner.

NASA is expected to spend approximately $93 billion on its Artemis moon programme through 2025, according to an estimate by the inspector general of the U.S. space agency.

Chandrayaan-3 Updates: Lander Module ready to be moved closer to moon

Ajey Lele, a consultant at New Delhi’s Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, stated, “As soon as this mission is successful, it raises the profile of everyone associated with it.”

With the successful descent, India became the first nation to touch down near the south pole of the Moon.
