Deoghar: Police seize 37 bikes loaded with over 200 kg illegal coal, nab seven

Seven bike riders were also arrested in this raid; however, many others managed to flee on seeing the police.

Deoghar: 37 bikes loaded with over 200 kg of illegal coal were recovered by Deoghar police on Budhai-Jamua main road under Devipur police station on Friday. Seven bike riders were also arrested in this raid; however, many others managed to flee on seeing the police.

All the bikes and the seven accused have been taken into police custody.

The Deoghar police had received an input that at the border of Deoghar –Jamua border, coal was being carried on bikes from where it is further supplied to the bordering state Bihar.

According to sources, these bikers used to collect illegal coal from the Chitra Mines of Deoghar and Giridih.

Further action against the arrested has been initiated by the police.
