DWTS Journey helps Alyson Hannigan lose 20 pounds and manage her emotions

Having reached the DWTS finale last Tuesday with her dance partner Sasha Farber, the actress took to Instagram to reveal a stunning physical transformation as well as shedding emotional weight.

On Saturday, Alyson Hannigan, well known for her roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “How I Met Your Mother,” revealed how “Dancing with the Stars” (DWTS) transformed her life. Having reached the DWTS finale last Tuesday with her dance partner Sasha Farber, the actress took to Instagram to reveal a stunning physical transformation as well as shedding emotional weight.

Sharing a striking side-by-side image comparing a pre-season promotional picture with one from the DWTS finale, the 49-year-old actress captioned, “The before and after says it all. I lost 20 pounds of both weight and emotional baggage during my time on @dancingwiththestars.”

Expressing heartfelt gratitude to her dance partner, Sasha Farber, Hannigan wrote, “I can’t thank @sashafarber1 enough for helping me shed my insecurities and getting me to the confident and strong place I am today!”

In response, Farber posted his own split image of Hannigan and highlighted her hard work. The benefits of dance included exercise, brain stimulation, and, most importantly, fun. In the comments, Hannigan enthusiastically endorsed Farber’s approach, stating, “Take it from me, it WORKS!!!”

Hannigan’s journey with DWTS wasn’t just about her physical transformation. Her heartfelt post about DWTS Season 32’s champions, Val Chmerkovskiy and Xochitl Gomez, was posted on Friday. Her journey was also commemorated with videos and a touching message behind the scenes.

Reflecting on the experience, Hannigan wrote, “Where do I even begin? I really don’t have enough words in my vocabulary to express my gratitude for this experience. To go into this journey with mostly fear, and come out how I feel now is indescribable.”

Acknowledging her dance partner, she continued, “I cannot thank @sashafarber1 enough for everything he gave me, shared with me and experienced with me. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for giving me confidence and making me feel like I could do this and then getting me there and having so much fun along the way.”

The DWTS Season 32 winner expressed her gratitude to the entire cast, crew, and audience who supported her throughout the season.

In an interview before her finale appearance, Hannigan shared her disbelief at being announced as a finalist. “I thought [host Alfonso Ribeiro] made a mistake. I thought he meant to say Ariana, and he said my name first and I just was waiting for him to correct himself, and then I couldn’t believe it, I was totally shocked.”

With the curtain falling on her DWTS journey, Alyson Hannigan not only danced her way into the hearts of fans but also discovered herself, shedding both physical and emotional weight, proving that the dance floor can be a transformative space.
