After a highly publicised relationship and separation, the legal proceedings between the former power couple have concluded.
Evans and Stevie J. Finalize Divorce: Stevie J., a renowned music producer, and Evans, a reality TV personality, have unexpectedly ended their turbulent relationship and finalised their long-awaited divorce. After a highly publicised relationship and separation, the legal proceedings between the former power couple have concluded.
Fans and followers paid close attention to the ups and downs of their relationship because it represented the merging of music and television. Evans and Stevie J. will go their separate ways as soon as the divorce papers are signed, concluding a chapter that captivated the media and their devoted admirers.
Faith Evans and Stevie J have finalised their divorce settlement nearly two years after Stevie J applied for divorce for the first time. The 51-year-old music producer and the 50-year-old “You Used to Love Me” singer have been “restored to the status of single persons.” According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the former couple consented to discuss the distribution of spousal support, attorney fees, and the division of their property. However, the agreement between the parties was not made public.
The Petitioner and Respondent have irreconcilable differences that have irreparably damaged their marriage, according to court documents. Counselling, a longer waiting period, or any other strategy will be ineffective in saving the marriage. In November 2021, after three years of marriage, Stevie filed for divorce from Faith, alleging they had separated on October 19 of that year.
However, Faith responded in December 2021 and stated that they had separated on May 29, 2020 — the same month she was arrested on suspicion of assaulting her spouse, although the charges were eventually dropped. She also asked for “all property acquired prior to the marriage, by gift, inheritance, or devise, and after the date of separation” to be transferred to her. She petitioned the court to deny Stevie alimony.
The record producer wanted the court to terminate Faith’s right to receive alimony payments from him and to determine how much money his ex-wife should give him to cover his expenses. In May 2020, the singer of “I’ll Be Missing You” was taken into custody after police were summoned to the Los Angeles residence she shared with Stevie. The police reportedly discovered significant scarring and scratches on Stevie’s face after a heated and violent argument between the two parties.
Later that day, after being arrested and confined in jail for felony domestic violence, Faith was released on bond. Several days prior, the producer had posted a mysterious message about anguish on Instagram. Pain does not randomly manifest in our lives, it stated. It is a sign that we need to make changes in our lives. The “Soon as I Get Home” singer and her spouse unfollowed each other on social media the previous year, causing rumours that their marriage was in trouble. At the time, Stevie sent a series of cryptic tweets, which fueled rumours.
These included “Drunk people always tell the truth,” “One’s insecurities can damage them,” “All that glitters is not gold,” and “Appreciate what you love, but understand that nothing lasts forever.” Faith, who was previously married to the late Notorious B.I.G., has four children from three previous relationships, including son Christopher with Biggie. Stevie has six children with five different women. They do not have children as a couple.
