Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, she possesses a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Princeton University, where she graduated with honours in 1991.

Jennifer worked as a newspaper correspondent in central Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Philadelphia, as a feature writer and columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, before publishing her first book, Good in Bed, in 2001.

In 2005, the film adaptation of her 2002 novel In Her Shoes starred Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, and Shirley MacLaine.

She presently resides in Philadelphia with her family, and her books have sold over 11 million copies in 36 countries.
