Dr. Brent Blue, coroner for Teton County, reported that strangulation was the cause of Gabby Petito’s death and that homicide was the manner of death.

According to him, Petito died between three and four weeks before her body was discovered on September 19 in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.

The announcement made today follows several case developments. On September 22, the FBI in Denver verified that the bones found in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest belonged to Petito, a 22-year-old woman who disappeared while visiting national parks with her fiance, Brian Laundrie.

Michael Schneider, the FBI’s special agent in charge, requests that anyone with information regarding Mr. Laundrie’s involvement in this case or his whereabouts today contact the bureau.

Latrie was traveling with Petito when she disappeared. Local and federal authorities have been searching a 25,000-acre Florida wildlife preserve for him. Late in September, the FBI reported that a federal arrest warrant had been issued for Laundrie’s actions following Petito’s death.

How Did Petito Family React to His Death?

In a recent interview in which they discussed the day they learned of their daughter’s death, Gabby’s parents stated that they still harbor the hope that Brian is alive. According to Gabby’s father Joe, Brian “didn’t tell us” that he returned to his home in North Port with her van and without Gabby. Joe added that the parents began frantically texting and contacting Brian’s parents, initially believing he was also missing.

“In response to one of the texts, I was going to contact the police. You know, “Just letting you know that we have no idea and have received no responses”” Joe Petito reported. “A normal parent would respond when you text them that you’re going to call the police because you can’t find your child.”

Joe Petito responded, “I do,” when asked if he believed “100%” that Brian Laundrie was concealing.

Because he is cowardly. Without exception. I could use other terms, but I cannot do so on your program. Coward, he declared. He murmured, “coward.” “Anyone who inhabited the home is a coward and incapable of defending their actions.

As of Friday, the remains of Petito were still being stored in Wyoming. Blue stated that her family was planning her return to Long Island. “Bringing her home is the family’s top priority,” Richard Stafford, the attorney for her parents, told Fox News.
