This Fourth of July weekend is anticipated to establish a new record for the number of Americans travelling by automobile for the holiday. AAA predicts that 43,2 million people will take the road in 2020, a 2.4% increase over 2019 and a 4% increase over 2019. On July 4, 2022, the national average price for a gallon of conventional petrol was $4.80. Due to the reduced price of oil, petrol prices have remained stable over the past few months, with the national average hovering between $3.50 and $3.60 per gallon.

The average price of a gallon of petrol in Illinois is $3.93. AAA reports that the average price of petrol in Cook County remained higher than the state average on Friday, at approximately $4.33 per gallon.

Shell & Circle K, 10258 S. Kedzie Ave., and BP, 9802 S. Kedzie Ave., offer the least expensive petrol in Evergreen Park.
