Hayley Williams has Lung Infection Endangering Her Long-Term Health

On their Instagram account, Paramore issued an official statement that elaborated on the dangers to Williams' health.

Hayley Williams has Lung Infection: The remainder of Paramore’s This Is Why Tour has been canceled due to Hayley Williams’ persistent respiratory infection.

Following Wednesday’s performance in Seattle, which had been rescheduled from late July due to the singer’s illness, Williams announced on her Instagram stories, “After speaking with our team and my doctor, I realize that trying to complete this tour will now be detrimental to my health.”

“My lungs are just not healing quickly enough to keep up,” Williams, 34, wrote, adding, “It got a little scary tonight.”

“We will have to cancel the last two shows of the tour so that I can finally get better,” the singer said. “I know some of you are already camping in Portland, so I just wanted to get this information out there.”

 

Williams continued, “I am so regretful for the chaos that this has caused for some of you. I tried very hard to beat this s—. I adore you all!”

On their Instagram account, Paramore issued an official statement that elaborated on the dangers to Williams’ health.

“I had hoped that a week off from performing and a strict medication regimen would allow my body to heal sufficiently to finish this tour strong,” Williams said in a statement, referring to the week of July dates that had been postponed due to her illness.

Hayley Williams has Lung Infection: The “Ain’t It Fun” singer previously revealed that she had taken “bellyfuls of antibiotics and steroids” to combat the infection, describing the ordeal as “a week of misery, sadness.”

Paramore’s official statement continued, “I’ve been doing everything I can to fight this infection so that we don’t have to announce more postponements and cancellations.”

“After struggling through the last few performances and consulting with my doctor, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s no longer feasible for us to put on a good show for you all.”

“I am now at risk for long-term harm, so I must pay attention to my body.”

Williams continued, “Physically, I am unable to continue. I am aware that this is not good news for anyone.”

Paramore stated that refunds will be issued at the point of purchase for the canceled performances.
