Illinois City Fireman’s Festival on Aug. 12: Come join us on Saturday, August 12 for the Illinois City Fireman’s Festival! It’s a brief drive from Muscatine, and the family always has a great time! I’ve been attending for the past six or seven years, performing music and hosting games following their incredible parade. Their motorcade is among the largest in our region.
Illinois City Fireman’s Festival on Aug. 12:
The festival benefits the Illinois City and Buffalo Prairie Fire Department, which is staffed by volunteers such as Jason Wolfe, Barry Lafever, and their team. These courageous individuals risk their lives to ensure the safety of the community, which is truly admirable. Thanks to the festival’s contribution, the department has been able to acquire the necessary apparatus and gear to respond to calls and ensure the safety of everyone.
And allow me to describe their renowned grilled pork steaks! They are truly delectable! I’ll undoubtedly consume three or four myself! In addition to the bounce houses and enjoyable activities, there will be an abundance of vendors and live music by the band Fair Warning later in the evening.
I’ll be there from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and I always see my companion Rikki Hofer-Hetzler there! The only thing we need now is good weather, but we’ll have a wonderful time regardless.
Let’s work together to make this year’s Illinois City Fireman’s Festival the greatest one yet! There you are!
