Erik Bergman, the leader of the Norwegian resistance, relays the information to Britain. The mission is led by Wing Commander Roy Grant, an American aviator in the Royal Air Force. The terrain of Scotland is comparable to the Norwegian fjord where the squadron exercises. Despite his wartime reservations, Grant fell for Hilde, Bergman’s sister.

Before the bombing assault, the Norwegian resistance must disable anti-aircraft systems. Bergman flees to Norway when unexpected German reinforcements arrive, but is captured and tortured by the Gestapo.
