Is Anthony Anderson Having a Divorce: Anthony Anderson and his ex-wife Alvina Stewart Anderson have finalized their divorce. According to court documents, on September 14, 2023, the former couple declared an uncontested default and signed a separation agreement outlining the circumstances of their breakup.

According to the documents, the 53-year-old actor from Black-ish will be responsible for paying alimony to his ex-wife and funding her legal fees.

Alvina filed for divorce in 2015, alleging the couple’s disagreements were irreconcilable. In the documents, she requested spousal support and listed April 1, 2014 as the date of separation.

In January of 2017, she attempted to have the divorce petition dismissed. According to E! News, they reportedly resolved their differences.

Alvina subsequently applied for divorce again on March 25, 2022. She stated that the divorce date was “TBD.” She filed for spousal support and implored Anthony at the time to pay her legal fees.

Alvina desired that all marital assets, including those acquired prior to the divorce, be deemed “community property” and divided equally between herself and her ex-husband. Separate property consists of “all gifts and inheritance, all assets, earnings, accumulations, and debts” she possessed prior to the marriage.

Anthony responded quickly to her divorce petition by stating that the couple had separated on February 25, 2022 due to irreconcilable differences.

According to the documents, the actor requested that his estranged wife be entitled to spousal support payments pending a “future determination” Nonetheless, he insisted that each side pay its own legal expenditures.

The estranged couple decided to sell their home in Encino, California, and divide the proceeds equally. Additionally, the former Law & Order star consented to pay Alvina spousal support.

The court also ordered Anthony to co-sign a 12-month lease with his wife “so that she may secure alternative housing.”
