Wednesday, Global Affairs Canada issued a statement in response to Fisher's absence, before Fisher's family announced his passing.

Police in Grenada reported that 35-year-old Liam Fisher was last seen on Saturday, September 9th.
He was jogging with the Grenada Hash House Harriers, a group that combines long-distance running and beer drinking.
Six hours after the police first reported him missing, a body was discovered in the same area where the run was taking place. They were attempting to determine if it was Liam and what led to his demise.
The family of Liam Fisher subsequently announced on social media that he had passed away.
“We are utterly devastated by the death of our beloved son, Liam Fisher. He worked so hard to become the person he desired to be and to assist others on their endeavors. He packed in so much living space. We adore you, Liam,” it stated.
Fisher hailed from Pemberton and was an exceptional athlete in numerous sports. He additionally served as a strength coach. Before attending medical school, Fisher founded the MVMT Academy in North Vancouver, which helped train young athletes.
Grenada Hash House Harriers members, along with other students and helpers, were searching for Fisher, according to posts on their Facebook page. According to one post, members of the search party discovered Fisher’s headwear on the runners’ path.
Fisher had been a student at St. George’s University in the nation’s capital since 2022. Tuesday, the institution issued a press release imploring all university students to keep Fisher in their thoughts.
“The Department of Public Safety and the Office of the Dean of Students at SGU collaborate closely with the Royal Grenada Police Force. According to their release, an extensive investigation and search are currently occurring. The university administration has taken appropriate precautions, such as deploying DPS personnel safety patrol and K-9 trained canines and notifying the student’s emergency contact.

“Global Affairs is aware that a Canadian national is missing in Grenada. It read, “Consular officials are in contact with local authorities and are providing consular assistance to the family.” Due to privacy concerns, no additional information can be shared.
