Sarah married actor Steve Howey in Las Vegas on February 7, 2009. In July 2009, after five months of marriage, she gave birth to their first son William Wolf Howey via water birth at home.

In January of 2015, she announced that she was expecting twins. In March, Violet Moon (daughter) and Knox Blue (son) were born to the couple. Violet Moon, the older twin by two hours, and Knox Blue were born in their Sherman Oaks, California, home.
