Jamie Raskin Illness: Did He Had Stage 2 Cancer?

Since Raskin concluded his treatment, there have been no signs of cancer recurrence, but he is extremely cautious about what he eats and how he treats his body.

Jamie Raskin Illness: Recently, Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland, 8th District) told us that a colonoscopy was the initial step on his road to recovery from stage III colon cancer.

Raskin’s acid reflux complaints prompted him to seek medical attention. The physician recommended both an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Raskin was asleep during the colonoscopy when a walnut-sized tumour was detected in his intestines.

The malignancy of the mass was not immediately apparent, but tests conducted over several days confirmed the diagnosis. This could affect anyone, including liberals, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, the young, the elderly, and individuals of various races and ethnicities.

Even with excellent health insurance, I struggled to embrace my diagnosis. I cannot even begin to comprehend the impact on those without health insurance. Consequently, I desire universal health care and routine colonoscopies.

When he was first diagnosed, he was spearheading the fight for marriage equality in the Maryland legislature. He asserts that the disparate effects of medical calamity have made him more committed than ever to ensuring that everyone has access to affordable health care.

Since Raskin concluded his treatment, there have been no signs of cancer recurrence, but he is extremely cautious about what he eats and how he treats his body. For those who have been delaying a colonoscopy despite knowing they need one, he provides some advice.
