Jharkhand CM pays homage to Nirmal Mahato on death anniversary

Chief minister Hemant Soren and several of his cabinet colleagues today paid rich floral tributes to slain JMM leader Nirmal Mahato on his 34th death anniversary at Uliayan in Kadma.

Soon after his arrival at the Sonari-based airport here this afternoon, where he was given a rousing welcome by partymen, the chief minister drove to Uliyan in Kadma where he along with Transport Minister Champai Soren and Health Minister Banna Gupta paid rich floral tributes to the slain JMM leader.

JMM legislators Savita Mahato, Ramdas Soren and several other senior party leaders who were present on the occasion paid floral tributes to Nirmal Mahato.

The chief minister had last visited Uliyan to pay tributes to the mausoleum of the slain JMM leader on his death anniversary in 2019. He had to skip the death anniversary of the JMM leader during the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The chief minister recalled the slain leader’s contribution to the Jharkhand movement.

People from various walks of life and political leaders cutting all party lines thronged the venue at Kadma since morning to pay tributes to Nirmal Mahato on his death anniversary.

The party leaders appealed to people to follow the ideology of Nirmal Mahato, who had led the struggle for the creation of a separate state for the development of tribals of this region.
