Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society organises 20th mid term conference in Ranchi

Dr Bharti Kashyap, Chairman of Scientific Committee, Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society in her welcome address welcomed all the dignitaries, doctors and OPG students present on the occasion.

The Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society (JHOS) along with the Ranchi Ophthalmological Society organised the 20th Mid Term Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society Conference (JHOSCON) at Darbhanga House on Sunday. Eminent ophthalmologists from all over the country were attending the event.

This Annual conference was organised for ophthalmologists of Jharkhand working in the far-flung areas of Jharkhand for upgradation of their knowledge and keeping updated with the latest advances in all the subspecialties of Ophthalmology.

The chief Guest on the occasion was Speaker, Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Rabindra Nath Mahato, while the guest of honour was State Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato. While addressing the audience, Assembly Speaker Mahato said, “This month is a historic month for the state. We know that people visit Jharkhand this month from all over the world to see Baba Badyanath Dham. I would congratulate you for organising the conference this month.

“We know that the conference aims to bring new technologies and methodologies to the ophthalmologists of the state in order to help them improve and improve their techniques. We have a long way to go in terms of medical and engineering education, and economic independence,” he said.

“All of you present here are the leaders in your fields. I would like to invite you to work for the betterment of the state and to provide Jharkhand patients with the required treatments. I thank Dr Birendra Prasad Kashyap and Dr Bharati Kashyap for changing the scenario of Ophthalmological medicine in the state and for continuously working to improve the present conditions,” the speaker added.

He further appreciated the Kashyap organization for connecting the internet to the education of Ophthalmology. He talked of his belief that one day the poor won’t have issues regarding treatment with continuous work from the doctors.

Education minister Jagarnath Mahato said, “With several esteemed doctors present here, I am thankful that Jharkhand has such doctors.” He further talked of his past encounters with doctors and thanked them for existing and helping people in need.

Talking of Covid, he talked of his experience of getting sick and then being taken to several hospitals. He also appreciated the help of the Chief Minister and the doctors at MGM that did help him through sickness and then recovery. The minister further promised support to the doctors that were planning to work for the poor in the state.

Dr Bharti Kashyap, Chairman of Scientific Committee, Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society in her welcome address welcomed all the dignitaries, doctors and OPG students present on the occasion and said, “It is a matter of pride for us to have such dignitaries as our guests and participants of the conference.”

“It is the first time ever that we are having a PG competitive session for budding women ophthalmologists. As chair of the scientific committee, it gives me immense pleasure to share that in 2022, at the All India Ophthalmological Conference, there were maximum free paper and poster presentations from Jharkhand as compared to earlier years,” Dr Kashyap added.

She further said that the Jharkhand Ophthalmologists have made their presence felt at the National Ophthalmological Conferences. She also praised Prof Rajeev Gupta from RIMS for having published a paper. She appreciated Dr Sunil Kumar, Dr Bharti Sharma, and Dr Abhishek Patnaik for having published in international journals.

She named Dr Vibhuti Kashyap and Dr Nidhi Kashyap and mentioned the study they participated in last year, along with special courses for the state that were provided.

Padma Shree Dr Ashok Grover, Dr Ananad Kishore Jha, Dr Rajesh Sinha, Dr Satanshu Mathur, Dr Sudipta, Dr Shweta, Dr Reena, Dr Poorna Chandra, Dr Bharat Singh, Dr Subodh Kumar, Dr Vikramjit Nag, Dr Jayant, Dr Vibhuti Kashyap among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
