According to his family, Beasley passed away in an Omaha hospital, but the circumstances surrounding his passing are unknown. Beasley had already planned to attend a Broadway workshop in August, which makes his untimely death all the more devastating.

John Beasley began acting at age 45.

It was not unusual for John Beasley to play prominent roles. He was the type of actor who could effortlessly and gracefully command any quantity of screen time. Rudy, Untamed Heart, and The Sum of All Fears would have been significantly different without Beasley’s consistent contributions.

John Beasley, who portrayed Irv Harper on the WB’s Everwood, will be fondly remembered by viewers as the affable bus driver-turned-author who shared the town’s charisma with the world through his writing. Chris Pratt, who began his acting career on the programme, was last seen in May 2023 shouting at John Beasley from courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game.

Chris seized the opportunity to contact his former colleague and friend John due to the fact that John’s grandson Malik Beasley plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Michael, the father of Malik, tweeted the video. “I’m looking at your grandson Malik right now,” Chris told Beasley. When he was about four years old, you stated on Everwood, “My grandson is going to play in the NBA.” I’ll never forget that statement.

He felt compelled to assist others due to his passion for performing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “he founded and directed the John Beasley Theatre and Workshop in Omaha for 13 years.” He was able to have a genuine impact by sharing his knowledge with those outside of prominent cities like Los Angeles and New York.

One of his final performances was in a Chicago production of The Notebook as James Garner. It was to make its début on Broadway, but John died before he could see it. “If I never made it to Broadway, I would still consider my career a success,” he told American Theatre. Although he never appeared, his efforts were successful.
