Levy was elected mayor of Worcester for a total of four terms, adding one term in the early 1980s and three more joining him in 1988. Additionally, he held a position on the board of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and the Governor’s Council. Midway through the 1970s, he entered the political landscape of the city. Elected to the City Council in 1975, he held that position until 1993.
