July 17: Dakshina Kannada reports 16 Covid cases, eight infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 17: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday July 17, reported 16 new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,033 out of which 61 are currently active. As many as eight patients were discharged on July 17.

No deaths were reported on July 17. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.98 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Eight coronavirus cases were reported on July 17. The total active Covid cases are 32.

A total of 10,89,189 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,79,665 have received both doses and 1,28,713 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported eight cases, Karkala and Kundapur added zero cases each.
