Kelly Clarkson Divorce: Kelly’s Take on the Divorce Settlement

Kelly wished for the album to convey more than just wrath or sorrow. She explained that relationships have ups and downs, and the title 'Chemistry' seemed to capture the voyage perfectly.

Kelly Clarkson Divorce: The singer of ‘Since You’ve Been Gone,’ Kelly Clarkson, finalised her divorce in 2022. Kelly and Brandon Blackstock’s separation has been in the spotlight since their unanticipated announcement in 2020.

With the release of her new album, ‘Chemistry,’ Kelly provides admirers with a glimpse into her and her husband’s nearly seven-year marriage. She candidly discusses the highs and lows and has addressed their previous legal disputes.

In 2022, two years after their separation, their divorce was finalised. Since then, Kelly has been paying Brandon a staggering sum.

Details of Kelly Clarkson’s Divorce

Kelly made a one-time payment of over $1.3 million to Brandon before beginning her monthly payments. Although Kelly has primary custody of their children, River Rose and Remington, she pays child support to Brandon in the amount of $45,601 per month.

Initially, she was ordered to pay $150,000 per month in spousal support to Brandon. This amount was reduced to $115,000, which she will pay until January 31, 2024.

Brandon retained ownership of their farm animals, select vehicles, golf simulator, and Patek Philippe luxury timepieces. Kelly maintained the family’s pets, multiple automobiles, and a flight simulator. In June 2022, she also reclaimed her Montana ranch, valued at $17.8 million. However, Brandon was granted a 5% interest in the property.

Kelly’s Perspective on the Divorce Agreement

In her song ‘Red Flag Collector,’ Kelly alludes to Brandon’s dependence on her fortune by singing about him stealing her money and tarnishing her reputation, which she takes in stride. During performances, she altered the lyrics of Gayle’s ‘abcdefu’ to make them more personal and reflective of her situation.

Kelly’s Opinions on Her Separation

Kelly expressed her sentiments regarding the divorce to Entertainment Tonight in 2020, highlighting the unpredictability of life and its unexpected turns. Her most recent album, which is commonly referred to as her “divorce album,” depicts the essence of their relationship.

Kelly wished for the album to convey more than just wrath or sorrow. She explained that relationships have ups and downs, and the title ‘Chemistry’ seemed to capture the voyage perfectly.
