Lisa Lopes Cause Of Death: Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was one of the most influential American musicians of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The rapper was best known for her work as the main lyricist for the R&B group TLC; her legacy lives on in throwback songs such as “No Scrubs,” “Waterfalls,” and “Creep” that reference the turn of the century.

She perished on April 25, 2002, in Honduras from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 30. When she “lost control,” she was driving a leased Mitsubishi, her spokesman Jay Marose told The New York Times.

The police stated that Lopes perished at the scene as a result of her vehicle leaving the roadway and flipping multiple times.

At the time, Watkins issued a statement that read, “We have truly lost our sister.” Never will our unity be shattered.
