The weather office also issued a warning of heavy rain at isolated places of EastSinghbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Khunti, Ranchi, Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Hazaribag, Koderma, Gumla and Bokaro in the next 48 hours.
Weathermen said an associated cyclonic circulation was extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
“It is likely to concentrate into a depression during the next 48 hours and move west-northwestwards across Odisha and Chhattisgarh,” said a duty officer.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Raisen, Seoni, Durg, centre of a well-marked low-pressure area over northwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal off Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts and thence southeastwards to the north Andaman Sea.
Satellite pictures indicated dense cloud cover in several districts of southern and central Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said the rain during the next two to three days will help in reducing the deficit which as of now stood at 48 per cent.
