Mangaluru: Couple arrested by CCB for ganja peddling; Rs 92, ooo worth items seized

Mangaluru Jul 16: The CCB police arrested a couple for possessing ganja at Kavoor on Saturday, July 16.

The CCB police, guided by inspector Mahesh Prasad and led by PSI Rajendra conducted a raid on a residence in Shankara Nagara, KC Alva Layout, Kavoor.

The arrested have been identified as Vikyath alias Vikky Bappal (28) and his wife Anjana (21), residents of Shankara Nagara.

From the accused, Rs 22,000 worth of 2.200 kg ganja, Rs 1,500 cash, one mobile phone and digital weighing machine all totaling Rs 92,000, have been seized.

There are suspicions of several being involved in this racket and will be traced soon.

As many as 13 cases are filed against Vikyath in several stations which include kidnap, murder attempt and assault while cases have been filed against Anjana in two police stations that include assault and murder attempt.

It is said that the couple were distributing ganja in the surrounding areas of KPT, MG Road, Kadri and Jeppu.
