Marianne Tombaugh Obituary
Marianne Tombaugh Obituary: Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw has lost his mother. Saturday, according to Ellen Kershaw, Marianne Tombaugh passed away. At the dedication of a newly renovated baseball pitch for children in Inglewood, California, which was financed by the pitcher’s foundation, his wife brought up the subject.
It was unclear at first how old she was or what caused her demise. After his parents’ divorce when he was 10 years old, Kershaw’s mother took him in and raised him in a Dallas suburb. His father, Christopher Kershaw, passed away in 2013.
Ellen Kershaw stated at the dedication, “Clayton grew up with a baseball in his hand, ready to play a game in a sandlot or on a ballfield just like this one at a moment’s notice.”
Ellen Kershaw, an astute observer, added, “She experienced no greater joy than watching her son develop into the man, philanthropist, father, and baseball player he is today.”
Kershaw and his spouse have produced four children. Before the game on Sunday, he joined two of them to play catch on the pitch. Manager Dave Roberts announced on Sunday that Kershaw will start Tuesday’s home game against the Minnesota Twins.
