Week 9 abdominal surgery resulted in his placement on injured reserve status on November 17, 2022. Hardman was activated off injured reserve on January 4, 2023. Although Hardman attempted to recover in the AFC Championship, an abdominal injury prevented him from competing in Super Bowl LVII. His second Super Bowl appearance was in which the Chiefs triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35.
