No trash pickup on Thanksgiving: According to a statement from City Hall, the waste management business hired to collect within Peoria’s city limits would not pick up trash, yard debris or recycling on Thanksgiving.

According to Nick McMillion, a spokesman for the city’s Public Works Department, the timetable adjustment will cause a one-day delay in services.

The last day of garden waste pickup in Peoria is December 9.

According to him, those scheduled for a Thursday pick-up will receive their collection on Friday, Nov. 24, while those scheduled for a Friday pick-up will receive their collection the day after.

Recycle, yard waste, and trash containers can be placed out as early as 3 p.m. the day before pickup and no later than 6 a.m. on a scheduled collection day to help you avoid missing a collection.

Within a day of pickup, take your containers out of the alley or curb. Put them next to a person’s house, garage, or garage. It is not appropriate to leave containers on the sidewalk or in the street.
