Pat Holland Cause Of Death: Patricia Terry Holland, the wife of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland, has died at the age of 81.
According to the Church, she departed peacefully on July 20, 2023, following a brief hospitalization. Patricia, also known as Sister Holland, was born on February 16, 1942 in Enterprise, Utah, and raised on a farm.
In secondary school in St. George, she met her future husband, Jeffrey Holland. While Jeffrey served as a missionary in England, they began dating and kept in contact through letters.
After five years of courtship, they tied the knot on June 7, 1963 at the St. George Temple. Together, they have three children with the names Matthew, Mary Alice, and David, and thirteen grandchildren.
Sister Holland attended LDS Business College, now called Ensign College, and Dixie College, now known as Utah Tech University. She received tuition in both piano and voice from instructors at Julliard.
She supported her spouse while he attended Brigham Young University and then Yale University by working for the Church Educational System. From 1980 to 1989, Elder Holland served as president of Brigham Young University.

Sister Holland was appointed to serve as a former counselor in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Young Women General Presidency in 1984.

“Pat’s faith in Jesus Christ blessed the entire Church. At a worldwide devotional for young adults earlier this year — broadcast from her native St. George, Utah — she offered young adults a simple approach to the religious life: “Please have faith in God, hope that He will help you, and receive the charity that enables Him to work through you to accomplish what only you can do.”
