Paul Reubens Cause Of Death: The death of Paul Reubens shocked the world. For years, the loving fans of the comedian who portrayed the renowned role of Pee-wee Herman were kept in the dark about his private health fight. Find out what caused the death of Paul Reubens and the cancellation of the Pee-wee Herman programme.

Paul Reubens Cause Of Death

On Sunday, Paul Reubens, better known as Pee-wee Herman, lost his battle with illness. He was 70 years old.

Reubens wrote, “In a message posted posthumously to the legendary performer’s official Instagram page, “Please accept my remorse for not going public with what I’ve been going through for the past six years. I have always felt a tremendous quantity of affection and admiration from my friends, fans, and supporters. I have enjoyed creating art for you all because I have cherished you so much.”

“Last night, we said goodbye to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer, and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children with his positivity, wit, and belief in the significance of kindness. Paul fought illness for a number of years with his signature tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific artist, he will live on in comedy’s pantheon and in our hearts as a cherished friend and man of exceptional character and generosity.”

The Pee-wee Herman character has appeared on film (1985’s Pee-wee’s Big Adventure), television (1986-1991’s Pee-wee’s Playhouse, for which CBS earned an Emmy), and stage (2010’s The Pee-wee Herman Show).

2016’s Pee-wee’s Big Holiday marked Reubens’ most recent appearance in the role. Outside of his Pee-wee role, Reubens has appeared on Ally McBeal, Pushing Daisies, The Blacklist, Gotham, and, most recently, The Conners and What We Do in the Shadows.

The impression he made as a guest performer on the first season of NBC’s 30 Rock is still being discussed today. Shortly before his passing, the actor’s representative revealed that Reubens had completed a book draught.

When Reubens was arrested in 1991 for indecent exposure at an adult movie theatre, reruns of the classic children’s programme Pee-wee’s Playhouse discontinued airing, despite the fact that the show had ended in 1990.

What Age Did Paul Reubens Pass Away?

Reubens lived to the age of 70. However, Pee-wee Herman and the legacy he left behind will endure forever. In 2016, Reubens told PEOPLE that he had made an effort not to distance himself from his Pee-wee character.

Reubens’ representative confirmed to PEOPLE that Reubens had completed two Pee-wee Herman feature film scripts prior to his passing. In 2016, he revived the Pee-wee character for the Netflix film Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. Nobody will likely be able to replace him, but he may return.
