Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Brightline: According to police, a 60-year-old woman was struck and killed by a rapid Brightline passenger train in Melbourne on Thursday afternoon. She was discovered dead near U.S. 1 on the east side of the train tracks. The Melbourne Police Department is conducting an accident investigation. Although the high-speed passenger train does not make an appearance in Brevard County, authorities have issued warnings and posted signs advising locals to exercise caution. The train utilizes tracks in close proximity to the bustling U.S. 1 region, which includes the pedestrian-heavy downtown of Melbourne.

The individual who was on foot is Lisa Marie Molnar, a native of Melbourne. Upon the occurrence of the accident, the Melbourne police were dispatched to the scene. The Brightline train that was required to halt between Aurora Road and Eau Gallie Boulevard has since departed.

Additionally, the sections of eastbound Aurora Road at the train tracks and Southland Avenue were diverted by the Melbourne police. The road reopened around 5:00 p.m. The law enforcement officers conducting traffic accident investigations were examining the possibility that alcohol or narcotics were factors in the collision.
