Powder White has halted trading, citing Brexit, Covid, and the current cost of living crisis as long-term issues, according to a report.
Powder White has abruptly ceased trading, blaming Brexit and Covid for the long-term consequences. According to the report, the company also struggled as a result of the current cost of living crisis.
By mid-2022, the firm had accrued losses of over £400,000 since it began selling ski resort accommodation in 2003.
The company has been losing money for the past five years.
“We are sorry to announce that Powder White has ceased trading,” a website message stated.
“Despite our very best efforts, we have regrettably been unable to navigate the extraordinary challenges our industry has faced over recent years.”
“This has resulted in us not being able to fulfil our obligations and guests’ ski holidays.”
With respect to booked ski holidays, the company is ‘urgently contacting customers’ to provide them with alternatives.
“We would like to thank all our customers and suppliers who have showed us such loyalty over the last 20 years.”
“Our thanks too goes to our incredible team of staff who have supported us throughout.”
Ski Line is offering to help customers rescue their ski holidays with alternative trips, and to assist them with obtaining refunds, according to the company’s MD, Angus Kinloch.
“If you have been caught out by the collapse of Powder White, we can help with finding a new ski holiday.”
