Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Career Life

“Putin’s Chef,” Yevgeny Prigozhin, transformed a hot dog stand outside a Saint Petersburg flea market into a restaurant frequented by the city’s deputy mayor in the 1990s. Once upon a time, a young Vladimir Putin was the deputy mayor. Putin’s unending love for Prigozhin’s food led the mayor to make his company the city’s official caterer.

Concord Catering was formed by Prigozhin, and just five years later, Putin was elected president of Russia, making it the official caterer of the White House. Concord has reportedly won contracts worth billions of dollars to provide the government with everything from school lunches to military rations and inmate eating.

Yevgeny Prigozhin’s catering business made him a fortune. As time went on, he also supervised the Wagner Group, a paramilitary organisation, and other businesses that have been linked to interfering in the 2016 and 2018 US presidential elections. Because of his activities’ proximity to the Russian Ministry of Defence and the GRU, Prigozhin has been subject to international sanctions and US criminal accusations.

Nightclubs and casinos

In 1990, after Prigozhin’s release from prison, he and his stepfather opened a profitable chain of hog dog restaurants. He also invested fifteen percent of his wealth in a franchised supermarket operated by the Contrast company.

Following his success in the hospitality industry, Prigozhin played a key role in bringing the first casinos to St. Petersburg. Concord Management and Consulting, which he founded in 1995, is the parent company of Concord Catering and several additional restaurants.

In the same year that Prigozhin established Old Customs House, Kiril Ziminov, director of Contrast, did the same thing. Inspired by the cafes and restaurants lining the Seine in Paris, the pair opened a floating bistro they named New Island two years later.

Prigozhin hosted a lunch for Vladimir Putin and Jacques Chirac in addition to welcoming world leaders like George W. Bush in 2002. In 2003, Prigozhin and his business partners decided to go their separate ways, leaving him to fend for himself in the restaurant business. In addition, he ended up being Putin’s personal chef and closest confidant.

Personal Business

Prigozhin wed the chemist and proprietor of the Chocolate Museum network of stores in St. Petersburg, Lyubov Valentinovna. She also manages the Crystal Spa & Residence boutique hotel, the Crystal Spa & Lounge day spa, and the New Technologies SPA company.

Polina is the name of Prigozhin and Valentina’s daughter. The family has a house in St. Petersburg equipped with a helipad and a basketball court. A 115-foot yacht and a private plane belonged to Prigozhin.
