Meisner not only sang and co-wrote the Eagles’ classic song Take It to the Limit, but also produced it. In September 1977, citing fatigue, he officially departed the ensemble. In addition, he toured with his ensemble Randy Meisner & the Silverados in the early 1980s. As the news of his passing has just been verified, everyone is presently in a state of mourning.

Randy Meisner’s Cause of Death

Prior to his death, Randy Meisner fought a malady. Since the late 1960s, he had suffered from recurrent alcoholism. During his time with the Eagles, Meisner attempted to manage his newfound notoriety. In 2004, he was hospitalized as a result of moderate cardiac problems. As a consequence, Meisner was forced to reduce his touring. Eventually, Meisner ceased performing as his health continued to deteriorate. In March of 2013, he lost consciousness at his residence in California and had yet another health crisis. Meisner was sent to the hospital immediately after a fragment of food obstructed his breathing while he was dining. Despite physicians’ optimism regarding his recovery, the bassist was unable to attend the History of the Eagles tour due to his debilitated condition.

Not to mention that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common, breathing-impairing respiratory condition. Emphysema is also known as chronic bronchitis. The lungs may become damaged or obstructed with secretions in COPD patients. According to court documents and comments made during a 2015 hearing in which a judge ordered the late bassist to receive continuous medical care, Meisner had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and chronic alcoholism.
