Ray Lewis III Cause of Death: Ray Lewis III, the son of two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis, is believed to have died of an overdose, according to a report obtained by police on Saturday.

According to the Casselberry Police Department, Lewis died Wednesday after officers responded to a residence in Central Florida and discovered him unresponsive in a bedroom.

According to reports, Lewis is 28 years old. He played cornerback for two seasons at his father’s alma mater, Miami, before transferring to Coastal Carolina in 2015. He completed his academic career at Virginia Union.

The evidence and witness statements indicate that this incident was a tragic accident, according to a police statement.

Lewis was receiving CPR when an officer arrived at the residence on Wednesday evening. According to the police report, the officer was informed by a second individual that Lewis required the opioid overdose antidote naloxone. Which he administered using Narcan.

The antidote and additional attempts to save lives were unsuccessful. Police reported that Lewis was transported to a hospital and pronounced deceased of a suspected overdose, pending the results of an official autopsy.

Mark James, his former coach at Virginia Union, stated that his former player “was a great kid.”

“He played hard, and it was a pleasure knowing him,” James told The Associated Press by phone on Friday.

Thursday on his Instagram story, Rahsaan Lewis wrote, “Really can’t believe I’m even typing this, but RIP big brother.”

James recalled Lewis as a level-headed young man who worked diligently and never acted superior to others. Despite his father’s NFL and Pro Football Hall of Fame achievements.

James remarked, “I believe that by the time we acquired him, he was prepared to go to school, graduate, play football, and be an impact player.” “He was a hard worker.”

Lewis played 12 games as a cornerback for Coastal Carolina and recorded 19 tackles. In 2017, he recorded 37 tackles for Virginia Union.
