Social Security Benefits Payment: Final Payment of September 2023

If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month, your payment is sent on the second Wednesday of the following month.

Those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) were paid on September 1 and will receive another payment this month.

The timing of these payments differs based on birthdates, so if you haven’t received your payment yet, it may be coming later in the month.

Who receives the final Social Security Benefits payment for the month of September?

The following is the schedule of payments:

  • Social Security disbursements for recipients since before May 1997 begin on September 1.
  • 13 September: Payments for individuals with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any given month.
  • September 20: Payments for individuals born between the 11th and 20th of any given month.
  • September 27: Payments for those born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
  • Depending on your birth date, the Social Security Administration sends payments on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of each month.

If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month, your payment is sent on the second Wednesday of the following month.

Between the 11th and 20th birthdays, payments are made on the third Wednesday of the month.

Payments are sent on the fourth Wednesday of the month for those born between the 21st and 31st.

Exceptions notwithstanding, SSI recipients typically receive their payments on the first of each month.

If you’re new to Social Security benefits, it’s essential to know when to begin collecting them and when to consider postponing them for a larger future payout.

Keep in mind that the Social Security Administration distributes payments in multiple cycles throughout the month, so if your payment hasn’t arrived yet, it’s likely scheduled for a later date based on your birthdate. Be patient and watch your account for the payment to arrive.
