A SpiceJet pilot’s license has been suspended for six months by the aviation authority Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as a result of an incident in May involving the airline’s flight from Mumbai to Durgapur, which experienced severe turbulence and resulted in injuries to numerous passengers.
Up to 14 passengers and 3 members of the cabin crew sustained injuries in the May 1 incident.
A senior DGCA official announced on Saturday that the flight’s pilot-in-license command’s had been suspended for six months due to a number of infractions. The pilot, among other things, might have handled the poor weather scenario better, the official claimed.
SpiceJet made no remarks on the problem. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) was looking into the occurrence because it was serious. There were up to 195 passengers on the flight, including 2 pilots and 4 members of the cabin crew.
The 14 passengers and 3 members of the cabin staff were claimed to have experienced head, spine, shoulder, forehead, and face injuries earlier by the DGCA.
Many SpiceJet flights have experienced challenges recently, including technical difficulties.
