Springsteen announced via his X (formerly Twitter) profile that he and The E Street Band would be cancelling their August 16 and 18 concert engagements at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia due to illness.

The Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band 2023 Tour commenced on February 1. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Springsteen & The E Street Band were forced to postpone their tour twice after it was originally scheduled to begin in 2020 in support of his number one Letter to You album.

The term eventually began at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida for 28 U.S. shows, followed by 31 European shows at Estadi Olympic Llus Companies in Barcelona, Spain. The most recent leg of Springsteen & The E Street Band’s 2023 Tour got off on 9 August at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.

This is the second time Springsteen has had to cancel concerts on this tour. In March, Bruce Springsteen had to cancel and reschedule three concerts due to an undisclosed illness. Springsteen’s representatives responded to requests for comment on his X post.

Since The River Tour in 2013, Springsteen’s upcoming tour in 2023 will be his first significant global tour. The Boss has topped the Billboard charts with multiple recordings. His most recent studio album, Only the Strong Survive, peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 in 2022.
