Steve Wymer Ebay Stalking Scandal: The eBay surveillance scandal was a 2019 operation conducted by eBay employees and independent contractors. Ina and David Steiner, e-commerce commentators who frequently criticised eBay on their website EcommerceBytes, were the subject of a scandal involving their persistent surveillance.

The Steiners received items including a gruesome pig mask, live cockroaches and spiders, a funeral wreath, enormous cartons of pizza, as well as online and in-person threats and harassment.

Wenig and Wymer gave the other defendants complete discretion to use any means necessary to stop the Steiners from reporting.

The Steiners are seeking monetary compensation from eBay for the years of persecution they have endured; the exact amount will be determined at trial.

Since the filing of the lawsuit, there has been a flurry of activity, including numerous attempts by eBay to have the case dismissed and numerous requests for filing deadline extensions. There is no scheduled trial date.

Steve Wymer is the senior vice president and chief communications officer for eBay. In February of 2019, Wymer began his employment at eBay. He resides in the Bay Area of San Francisco.

Steve is presently the director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley after being terminated from eBay for cause.

He asserts that his communications were misrepresented and that he learned of the employees’ conduct only after the fact.

In a statement to 60 Minutes, former CEO Devin Wenig conveyed his outrage at what transpired, stating that he would have intervened if he had known about it at the time.

Former eBay CEO Wenig departed the company in September 2019 with a $57 million separation payment.

This week, the Department of Justice filed charges against six eBay employees allegedly involved in a cyberstalking campaign against business critics in 2019.

In 2019, these detractors allegedly received packages containing a bloody pig Halloween mask and a book on surviving the loss of a spouse.

Former CEO Devin Wenig and former chief of public relations Steven Wymer, according to sources, are the two executives charged in the federal case.

eBay was instrumental in launching the e-commerce revolution when it was founded more than two decades ago.

Over the years, it has attracted 132 million users, ranging from mom-and-pop collectors seeking deals to small business proprietors.

However, Steve Wymer’s arrest has not been made public, and according to authorities, an investigation into eBay is currently ongoing.

Until the summer of 2019, Ina and David Steiner led a tranquil existence in Natick, Massachusetts, a charming Boston suburb.

They manage the website EcommerceBytes.com. Ina handles the reporting, while David handles the business operations.
