Suffield Bridge Accident: Tractor-Trailer-Van Crash Causes Severe Injuries

Officials report that the Suffield Bridge Accident on Highway 190 occurred around midnight. Both vehicles caught fire following the collision. Friday, police reported that a vehicle and tractor-trailer collided head-on in Suffield, with reports of injuries.

According to authorities, the collision occurred around midnight on Highway 190 on the bridge. According to the police, the truck driver suffered “less serious injuries” than the van driver. After the collision, the truck reportedly took fire and spewed diesel gasoline all over the street. The van then caught fire after the petroleum caught fire.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is responding to the accident scene due to fuel and chemicals seeping into the drains and onto the road. According to officials, the truck driver was able to evacuate the vehicle on his own. The driver of the van had to be rescued by firefighters when the fire was extinguished.
