What Did His High School Coach Say About Tajh Boyd?
Tajh Boyd played football for the Chesapeake, Virginia-based Oscar Smith Tigers. During his sophomore and junior years, he helped his team achieve state championships as a standout player.
In spite of the Tigers’ 9-2 record last season, Tajh’s influence extended beyond his performance on the pitch, as his coach Chris Scott explained:
“Tajh’s influence extended far beyond statistics and honours. Yes, he was a formidable force on the football pitch, but it was his contagious smile, positive energy, and ability to inspire others that made him genuinely larger than life.”
Even though he was not expected to start as a freshman, Tajh Boyd was viewed as a future offensive lineman for the Liberty Flames. He chose Liberty over offers from other institutions, including Jackson State and Maryland.
Tajh Boyd committed to Liberty before his senior year of high school and passed away at the young age of 19 years.
