G Marimuthu Obituary: G Marimuthu, a Tamil actor and director who was last seen in Rajinikanth’s Jailer, has died at the age of 57. According to the South Indian Artists Association, the Marimuthu died of cardiac arrest on Friday. He reportedly fell uneasy while dubbing for a Tamil TV serial and was taken to a hospital.

Marimuthu had recently taken up acting and appeared in a number of films and television series. The Tamil film industry flooded the 57-year-old actor with condolences upon learning of his passing.

Thailaiva Rajinikanth expressed his respects to the deceased actor. In a post on X, he wrote in Tamil, “Marimuth was an exceptional individual. His passing stunned me. My deepest condolences are extended to his bereaved family.”

The renowned actor Prasanna, who appeared in both of Marimuthu’s films (‘Kannum Kannum’ and ‘Pulivaal’), expressed his condolences. “Deeply saddened to learn of the director G Marimuthu’s departure. Together, we completed #KannumKannum and #Pulivaal. We had a brotherly relationship. We agreed to disagree on a number of issues. His life was not at all simple. As an actor, he was finally thriving. He should have remained there longer. Sad. Prasanna commented, “Rip,” on a post in X.

Sun Pictures also lamented his passing and penned, “Our condolences! Your work was flawless and irreplaceable. “Rest In Peace”

Shanthnu offered condolences to his family and expressed astonishment at his passing. In a blog post, he remarked, “Shocking to hear about this Oflate; I’ve been following much of his work.” Rest in peace, sir #RIPMarimuthu sir Condolences to his family”

During the early phases of his career, he worked with lyricist Vairamuthu. He also performed as an assistant director in Tamil films. His most notable performances include ‘Vaali,’ ‘Jeeva,’ ‘Pariyerum Perumal,’ and ‘Jailer,’ among others.

Marimuthu has appeared in the Tamil television series ‘Ethir Neechal’ since 2022, in addition to films. Marimuthu was a viral YouTube star whose opinions are popular on social media platforms.
