The Belmont Stakes 2023: Winner? What Is The Distance Of The Race?

The Belmont Stakes 2023: This Saturday at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, the Belmont Stakes, the third and final leg of the Triple Crown, will be contested for the 155th time. In 1973, the legendary horse Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes by a record-setting 31 lengths; this Saturday’s race will commemorate the 50th anniversary of that victory.

Nine horses will compete in this year’s Belmont, also known as the “Test of the Champion” due to its duration. National Treasure, the winner of the Preakness Stakes, will compete at Belmont Park, whereas Mage will not.

Earlier in the week, numerous sporting events in the New York metropolitan area were cancelled due to wildfire pollution concerns in Canada. Due to poor air quality, Thursday’s practise sessions at Belmont Park were cancelled, but regular racing resumed on Friday.

The race will begin at 21:05 GMT.

Which Networks Will Broadcast the Belmont?

The first network to broadcast the Belmont is Fox. FS1 coverage will commence at 11 a.m. ET, while FS2 coverage will be more extensive. Fox’s coverage will begin airing at 3 p.m. ET.

Who Won the 2023 Belmont Stakes?

Arcangelo completed the race in 2:29.23, ahead of Forte by 1 1/2 lengths and Tapit Trice by another length and a half. The Belmont Stakes is the longest of the Triple Crown races at 1 1/2 miles, but the result would have been different had it been longer because Forte regained his form in the final stages.
